Goals

With some pretty big goals set for the year, we do take the time to celebrate the smaller ones we hot along the way.

It was a mentally challenging week of the back of Celeste’s birthday party the previous week and it made for some tough runs. I didn’t struggle to get out the door, but I felt like I was dragging a ton of weight with me whilst running.

This is why it is important to set some smaller targets along the way to the bigger goal, and ensure these are celebrated when achieved. Yesterday that was hitting $50,000, 5% of our fundraising goal, the week before I hit 2000 kilometres is training for the year and we also picked up a new Gold Sponsor, JK Ramage Builders!

All of these milestones we do a little happy dance and celebrate just what we have achieved since the beginning of the year. Yes we may still have $950,000 to raise and 1,000 kms to run but we are moving in the right direction.

I am also grateful for those that have come up with and implemented their own ideas to help create awareness around my cause and in turn helped to raise money. The lastest being Kaine Baldwin’s challenge to ride 2,000 kms and swim 50 kms in 28 days. He is on the home stretch now and we have some exciting news to announce out of this in the near future.

For now it is recovery week, so a lighter running load, meaning time to recharge the body and the head.

74 sleeps until the start line and I am keen.

Thanks for reading x
