Recovery Week

An easier week always means I am tired a lot! It is funny how when you have a lighter load your body gets a little lazy. My longest run was 80 minutes on Saturday, which I enjoyed a nice early morning coastal run.

A few highlights were still had:

My running bestie Aleks was in town, and we had a run together on Wednesday. Aleks had been a staple in my long trail runs for years until she moved to QLD a couple of years ago. We have shared many tales on the trails, ups and downs and the rocky bits of life as well as the lovely flat easy flowing parts. I always said when she moved away I lost a little of the sunshine from my runs.

We also had our local cafe, Mediterranean Cafe put on a Coffee for a Cause Day, whereby all coffee proceeds on Saturday were donated to our fundraiser. Around $4,000 was raised through sales and donations and we cannot thank Tara and Chris enough for their generosity and that of the community. It was lovely to catch up with so many friends and to chat with everyone about what we are up to.

Another huge highlight was Kaine Baldwin over at the Hanger in Essendon, Melbourne completing his challenge to bike 2000'kms and swim 50km’s. A huge effort which I will share more exciting news about in another blog post shortly, as it deserves it’s own piece!

The week was rounded out with a lovely little 20min recovery run around the block, ready to get back to work this week.

67 sleeps.
