23 Years

Friday 9th August Celeste should have been out celebrating her 23rd birthday, instead we were holding a birthday party in her honour and raising funds for Stillbirth Foundation Australia.

It was a big day filled with mixed emotions, and my anxiety levels were sky high leading up to telling my story in front of a full room. It is a day we usually privately honour, with just our family, but this year we decided to give Celeste the party that she deserved.

It was a lovely afternoon, with so much love and support in the room, Tim and I could not have asked for a nicer celebration. Guests enjoyed a 3 course lunch, whilst hearing about my challenge ahead and why. We were also lucky enough to hear from Rob Saunders (dad to Billie) who is the Founder of Room Eleven in Melbourne and doing some amazing work raising awareness over there.

The auction was a hit, with Brad Allan from Allan Real Estate getting guests to dig deep, and deep they did with over $20,000 raised, from this, the wine wall and our unique rose wall supplied by Ross Roses at Willunga.

The weekends training runs were a bit of an effort after Friday, I was mentally exhausted and it took some fun company with the Conways to help me get Saturday ticked off. Sunday I had 3 hours to complete, and I decided quite early on just to enjoy the spring weather and process the past week.
