Whats Up Next
It has been a while, but I thought I would check in to provide a little update of how things are with Stillrunning.
Injury wise, I am on the road to recovery, the Haematologist is happy with my progress with respect to the DVT. I am allowed to step up my ankle recovery, which was a big deal mentally for me. I will have a scan in a few weeks just to check for any residual scarring from the clot.
Last week I had my, hopefully, last visit with the Sports Doctor, I was still having some plantar flexion issues, and pain at the injury site, so he gave me a cortisone to give it a little help.
After a few days rest I am now approved to pick up my walking, which was limited to about 2km. So I headed out yesterday and am happy to report I managed just over 3.5km, both morning and night, total 7km, and have pulled up well today. It did ache a little overnight but was fine in the morning.
The plan going forward is to be back running by the end of February, so wish me luck!
The injury, however, has not held Tim and I back in what we hope to achieve in 2025 with raising awareness of stillbirth and funds for the Stillbirth Foundation Australia.
We are putting the final touches to our documentary, something we are very excited about. We hope to take this nationally, including to the regional areas that are so often missing out on support.
I am finishing up on my book about the journey last year, hopefully many will find that inspiring to go out and make a difference in their own communities and TIm and I have also lodged our submission with the SA government for the Inquiry into Stillbirth in South Australia.
We have a few other proposals in the pipeline that I can not share currently, but we are pretty busy, and we also hope to have a couple of exciting announcements in regards to Corporate support for 2025.
The run may be done, but we are not finished.
